With experience in prosecution, restorative justice initiatives, and community outreach, Jamie Adams will continue to prioritize public safety and fight to bring justice to victims and restore the dignity of all of her constituents.
My Platform
The Two-Pronged Approach: Prevention & Prosecution
Jamie Adams has spent more than 17 years refining a proven, balanced philosophy for serving as District Attorney, a method she calls The Two-Pronged Approach: Prevention and Prosecution.
Prevention:
Jamie believes the safest communities are built by addressing the root causes of crime before they ever reach the courtroom. She is committed to strengthening families, supporting community development, and working closely with mental health professionals trained in ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) evaluation to identify underlying trauma. By addressing these issues early and providing residents with the support they need, Jamie works to ensure safer homes and safer neighborhoods.
Prosecution:
Equally important to Jamie’s approach is holding those who wish to terroize our neighborhoods accountable. Since serving in Anson, Richmond, and Scotland counties, she has dramatically reduced the backlog of murder cases, some of which had remained unresolved since 2016. Jamie has consistently pursued maximum penalties for violent offenders and abusers, sending a clear message: when all preventative efforts fail, justice will be swift, serious, and certain. Holding dangerous individuals accountable is essential to protecting victims and restoring community trust.
Reduce Violent Crime
Jamie Adams has dramatically strengthened the pursuit of justice since stepping into her role. She has significantly reduced the backlog of murder cases, some of which had remained unresolved since 2016, and since 2022 has personally tried every murder case in Anson, Richmond, and Scotland Counties.
In addition to her work in the courtroom, Jamie has trained and guided prosecutors in handling some of the most sensitive and complex cases, including child sexual abuse and adult sexual assault.
Jamie believes that reducing violent crime requires more than strong prosecution; it demands coordination, cooperation, and trust between the District Attorney’s Office and law enforcement professionals. She is committed to building on the strong partnerships already in place to ensure that violent offenders are held accountable and that communities remain safe.
Just as importantly, Jamie is dedicated to expanding victim services, recognizing that true justice includes ensuring victims have the resources, advocacy, and emotional support they need to heal and rebuild their lives. Under her leadership, supporting survivors remains a top priority.
Fair & Impartial Justice
Jamie Adams is unwavering in her commitment to fairness and impartiality. Her mission is simple: achieve justice in every case while protecting the rights and dignity of everyone involved. She brings moral clarity, steady judgment, and the courage to stand firm on behalf of victims and the community at large.
Jamie is committed to continuing to root out corruption, eliminate bias, increase transparency, and ensure that every prosecutorial decision is grounded in facts not politics, pressure, or prejudice. She believes justice must be fair, consistent, and equal for all.
Community Development & Accountability
Jamie is committed to continually investing in community development programs that strengthen families and reduce recidivism, which include literacy initiatives, prevention programs, youth services, and re-entry support. She believes accountability and transparency are essential to building public trust, and she is dedicated to openly communicating with the communities she serves.
Jamie pledges regular public reporting and continued expansion of partnerships with local organizations to build stronger neighborhoods and safer communities for everyone.
My Initiatives
Ryde Center
One of Jamie's most ambitious initiatives is the creation of a comprehensive Community Justice Center, known as the RYDE Center. The RYDE Center will be a one-stop hub designed to restore the dignity and strengthen the well-being of every constituent. The RYDE Center will operate through direct partnerships with local nonprofits, service providers, health organizations, and community leaders under one coordinated roof. Transportation assistance will be provided to ensure that every resident, no matter their circumstances, can access the support they need. including:
- Food security assistance
- Help with utility and bill payments
- Substance abuse and recovery support services
- Victim advocacy, trauma counseling, and crisis intervention
- Programs for youth and families to reduce crime and build stronger futures
It will also include transportation assistance and expanded victim support services to ensure survivors are heard, supported, and empowered throughout the justice process.
Domestic Violence Task Force
Jamie Adams began her career as a prosecutor dedicated to protecting survivors of domestic violence, and that commitment remains one of her core priorities. She founded the Mecklenburg County Domestic Violence Prosecution Team, an innovative unit that continues to serve survivors today. Her leadership helped build a model of coordinated, trauma informed response that other jurisdictions now study.
As District Attorney, Jamie is committed to bringing that same level of excellence to Anson, Richmond, and Scotland Counties by creating a collaborative Domestic Violence Task Force. This initiative will unite prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, victim advocates, and community partners to ensure that domestic violence cases are handled thoroughly, consistently, and with the highest level of care. Her mission is clear: protect survivors, hold offenders accountable, and build a justice system that understands and responds to the complexity of domestic violence.
Drug Court
Jamie Adams is committed to establishing a dedicated Drug Court that treats addiction as a public health challenge, not just a criminal offense. This specialized court will provide treatment first pathways for individuals struggling with substance use, offering structured support, accountability, and coordinated care.
By partnering with healthcare providers, counselors, and rehabilitation programs, the Drug Court will offer other pathways that will lead to long term recovery. This approach reduces repeat offenses, rebuilds lives, and strengthens the safety and wellbeing of our communities. This program is strictly reserved for individuals battling addiction and does not apply to drug traffickers.
Man 2 Man: Young Men & Fatherhood Initiatives
Jamie Adams will strengthen, support, and expand the mission of Man 2 Man, an organization dedicated to helping young men grow into responsible, confident, and productive members of our communities. Man 2 Man meets individuals where they are and provides the tools they need to thrive, including:
- Financial literacy and long term financial planning
- Job placement assistance and professional skill development
- Support for single fathers
- Guidance navigating child support and alimony
- Education and career advancement opportunities
Jamie is committed to working hand-in-hand with Man 2 Man to expand these services across Anson, Richmond, and Scotland counties. By investing in young men today, we build stronger families, safer neighborhoods, and a more hopeful future for everyone.
